MEET the band Pipeyard: ONE OF THOSE UNDEFINABLE, INDESCRIBABLE, BANDS THAT COLLECTORS OF THE STRANGE, AND UNIQUE WILL HOLD TIGHTLY. MUSICAL AND VOCAL SOUNDSCAPES FUSE THE EMOTIONAL AND ETHERICAL TO THE HEAVY AND BRUTAL. THEY PROJECT AND CONTROL AN INTELLIGENT DESIGN THAT RARELY IS TAPPED BY TODAYS NEW ACTS. THEIR DEBUT MUSIC EXUDES A SENSE OF CONCEPT, BUT STEALTHFULLY MOVES BEYOND ANY SIMPLE MINDED ALTERNATIVE, HEAVY ROCK GENRE.
The DEBUT CD "surviving the end of the universe" is a concept album and 14 track epic, that leaks together non-stop melding the brutal with the etherial.
Scotty J-as the front man and quiet artist everyone knows the passion and humilty Scotty J has towards music. He was always the crew/tour guy in previous bands, but was a stage/lighting tech for the band "dope" on many tours from 2002-2007. He has toured with every national act...from mushroomhead/Dope/Fear Nuttin Band/Pigface and the list goes on. He has truely "been to the other side"... But he purges all inner emotion and demons in Pipeyard, leaving the watcher stunned by the end of every performance. He can sing, and he can violently scream in the thickest of textures...and entertain all at once...when in reality all who kow him see him humble and helpful (a trait so rare in this cold world) ... you would do yourself a favor to have a conversation with him, and see him live Aaron has been a vetern to music scene since 1990. In the early days he was part of the last inception of Damien Steele, part of the touring cover band Wanted, and then mid 90's he was 1/4 of the group PSYCLONE who dominated the cover/original scene, releasing the self titled debut CD at a time when bands of this caliber were scarce. 1997 He founded the act Diecaster with Bill Teel and Trevor Huster (formerly of scene rival Playground)...they pushed the limits of originality with electronic fused with the brutal and hardcore. Recording 3 unreleased CDs and countless live shows they explored realms untapped by original local artists at the time. At this time also he was a long running radio DJ at WERG having a 3 hour show late at nights called the RPM show. By 1999 he started Seahollies as a side project. But by the 3 EP mark, its apparent noticeability was surprising and his call to order was to ensure original bands have a place in the mainstream. By 2005 seahollies reign was slowing, cataloging 3 EPS and 2 full length CDS and countless unreleased material, Aaron and the musical side of seahollies (added Scotty) and started Pipeyard. Conceptual in nature and not afraid to once again push the boundaries of what peers expected. Aaron has always been at the forefront of the local original movement...the whole time his artwork has been seen everywhere, from posters, to bar walls, to other original acts' CD layouts... His role in in Pipeyard has once again showed no limits in his style-aggression- and precision on the bass... Once again though he has kept boundaries pushed by singing and playing guitar as well as composing saddened tapestries in his solo project Letters to the Dead. His discography and experience is unrivaled as is his determination, and humility in the face of everything that is Erie music. Bill Teel aka: TEEL ... has been heralded my guitar hero watchers since the early nineties, he gained the local eye with Trevor Huster in the original band Playground in a time when bands weren't pushing the envelope, he had no fears to do so. His speed and agility on the fretboard, as well as his bruising heaviness, made a mix that few could ever hope to replicate. Under this premise, he focused into the unit Diecaster by the 1997, making sounds that many believed to be keyboards, on his guitar, as well as maintaining the face shredding approach that he is known for. He became part of the ranks of Seahollies by 2001 playing on the most successful latter CDs the band released. Then staying true to his eclectic and eccentric musical leanings, he created unreplicatable sounds, and rhythms that became the spine of what is Pipeyard. He continues to create true originality...fusing the complex and simple with the creepy, and brutal... His style is unmistakable. His charm is magnetic.
Tony Fosco has been a driving force for years, his style of drumming solid, and quick, he is known for double bass trickery while also maintaining jazz like leanings... though he grew up in rock and metal scenes, he has unique approach and his his fills and odd time signatures, make him one of the true innovators of the craft. He played covers songs for years in Gear and later Higgeldy Piggeldy until 2002 when he joined the ranks of Seahollies to be a part of the bands most successful latter 2 CDs. He now once again pushes style and conceptual boundaries in Pipeyard, and is no stranger to the watchful eyes of fellow drummers who see him as one of the greats. To watch him sidestage is truly amazing. His speed and agility mixed with the metronome-like solidity is why he is recognized by peers.
Collectively they are are up (again) for the 2008 award nomination in the METAL catagory as well as individual : male vocalist-bass-guitar-drummer catagories...and Aaron's Letters to the Dead in the acoustic catagory... We humbly ask for your vote and consideration.
