Looks like this summer is going to be awesome for music both local and international in flavor. I have added 2 new shows to my list. I am starting to run out of weekends to play on!! Let me give you a list of my next four shows and then I'll give you a heads up on a couple of good shows coming up in Erie by other musicians.
BUT first an announcement: Mean Max and the Gaffer have officially formed a band! When we perform together we will henceforth be known as: the Hideous Primates!! If you want to know how the name came about..... just ask!!
I would also like to announce that I have signed with My Hollywood Musician Network. If any of you would like to know more please let me know and I'll fill you in!!
OK.... to the shows!!
Saturday May 24; 6 to 8 pm; Presque Isle Gallery Coffeehouse This is a brand new coffeehouse that is located in the old Joe Roots building next to Sara's on Presque Isle. Right now they have pastries and really good coffee but will be adding a lunch menu in the next 2 weeks or so. They also have art work, jewelry and photography by local artists that can be purchased or simply enjoyed! I will be doing a tips only gig with Mean Max that evening so come on down and enjoy the sunset and some really great music. If the weather is nice we will play on the patio!! We will do mostly our own songs but will sneak a few covers in from time to time.
From the coffeehouse we will pack up and move to:
Saturday May 24; 10pm to 1 am; Scotty's Martini Bar on 3rd and German this is the first official Hideous Primates show This is our absolute favorite place to play. The crowd is always great and the martinis are even better. We will have the pleasure of having Steve Trohoske perform a set with us. Steve is Eries finest Jazz bass player. He also fronts his own group 3bop which appears at Scotty's regularly as well.
Wednesday June 18; Noon to 1:00; Erie Art Museum, front steps

Just a reminder that this weekend is the Springfever Festival at the Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs. This is a 3 day roots, folk and blues festival that will showcase the best in local and regional music. You can get more information at www.springfeverfestival.com There is always an open jam going on in the lobby, on the huge front porch and in every nook and cranny in the place. There is also a main stage where you can pick up the featured acts.
I will have my debut there at 1:00 pm on Saturday the 19th. I will be show casing my own acoustic finger picking and slide guitar songs.
From there I will hustle my butt back up to Erie to play at Scotty's from 10 to 1:00. Scotty's is located at 3rd and German. If you haven't been there then you are missing the best live music venue in Erie! Come on down and have a martini with Mean Max and Gaffer! This will be a rock and roll gig with Stevie Trohoske, Erie's best bass player, sitting in with us!
