Tent City 12

by Dee Girard, posted 22 Jul 2008 10:14 AM

Tent City 12 Well I played my first solo gig supporting Waiting On The Gods. It was Saturday at a party held by my friend Chuck Thomas at his home. He has been hosting this party for 12 years and even has shirts made up for it. It was a great time and everyone was digging my tunes. I even sold CD's! The rain held out and I played 7 songs off the disc. It was awesome! Can't wait to do it again. Felt good to be back onstage! Ya!

Napoleon Solo

Napoleon Solo Ya he was cool but I always wanted to be Illya Kuryakin. So what does that have to do with this blog? Not a damn thing! I have decided to do a solo act to support my disc "Waiting On The Gods". Why not get a band together? Hey if you're interested give me a shout. Right now though I am almost ready to whip it out. The songs..the songs...sicko! If you need an opening act (30-40 min) let me know. These songs kick **** live and loud! Rock on!
Have a great 4th! Maybe I will see you around!
Peace and love,
-Dee

The Rush of Orgasm

by Dee Girard, posted 08 Feb 2008 11:41 PM

The Rush of Orgasm When I was a young man I wanted to be the best guitar player in the world. I took lessons and practiced, practiced, practiced. I learned all the hot songs by Eric clapton, Cream, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Nazareth, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Humble Pie, Joe Walsh, Glass Harp, Rolling Stones, Roy Buchannen, and many, many more. I loved to jam too. People would watch me play and would be amazed at my technical ability and my melodic style. I loved that feeling. People getting off on my playing. I remember a friend just letting it all go and forgetting all his troubles and just getting into my guitar playing so much that he was transformed for a moment into a free spirit. What a great thing to see his frown turn into a smile. I'll never forget that. I remember women sitting at my feet and looking up at me with adoration as I played Interstellar Overdrive. Unbelievable. I was never into music for the chicks. I was into it because I loved it. Sure I could have gotten laid tons of times but I didn't want that. I wanted to play. Now after so many years have passed I can see that it was important to be true to music. I feel good about that and I don't have any diseases!. We all want to be loved and a musician knows the feeling of transient love more than most. We long for it again and again. I'd give anything to taste it again.... so my song goes. Now I'm writing more songs. It's dangerous and exciting. Every time I get a new tune going I feel the rush of orgasm. There's nothing better...well almost nothing. :)

Rock Erie awards

by Dee Girard, posted 11 Jan 2008 11:33 AM

Rock Erie awards So I'm thinking about entering the Rock Erie Awards. There is no category for multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/songwriter/producer or best original artist or best original cd. I guess I could suggest a category but that is not my main dilemma. Do I want to be accepted by society? Not really. Do I need recognition? no. Do I need the attention? no. I like the awards ceremony. It was great to get together with all those musicians, have a few laugh and a few more drinks. Most are pretty cool. There are some who really think a lot of themselves. I guess it comes with the territory. I would like the opportunity to promote my music and my disc "Waiting On The Gods". That would be great! I am still not sure though. Like I said I don't want to be accepted. I like being a loner. I do it well.
