WHATS GOING ON WITH CRYPTIC DEMISE?

I'll tell you what's going on with Cryptic Demise. First of all, our bass player, Sergio has joined the U.S. Army. His position in the band is up in the air right now. If someone comes along who is dedicated and wants to learn the songs, that person has our blessings. At first, Cryptic D decided to take the hiatus and wait until Sergio returned. But once the reality set in that he was not going to be a permanent resident of the band for another 6 years, Cryptic Demise decided to continue forward as if Sergio never left. Yeshua Demise, the band's front man, has taken it upon himself to not only sing the main vocals, but also do the backups as well, while simultaneously filling in the crucial bass parts on his keyboard. In a recent interview, Yeshua was quoted as saying "F--- it, people are always going to leave you in your life, especially when you get comfortable with having them around. No reason to get all depressed and drink..." then he paused and took a large swig of Jack Daniels... "Well, " he said "there's always a reason to drink. At any rate, I used this catastrophe to increase my musicianship and become a better singer/songwriter/performer/keyboardist." If you want the full interview, just e-mail penyroyaltea@hotmail.com, subject "Yeshua interview" So the band lineup is, at this time, Cox on lead guitar, Nick Tulino on guitar, Jason Rainey on drums, and Yeshua Demise on vocals/keyboard. The band just played at "The Dog" to a capacity crowd, and many of the fans were quoted as saying that they actually sounded better than usual. Cryptic Demise brought Pittsburgh metal giants "Vulture" and the increasingly recognizable "Reduce to Ash", who featured some old Erie names, such as "The Bodacious Buddy" and "Quinn" from Criminally Insane, and Ozzmosis respectively. Cryptic Demise has their sights set on the future, to book a full fledged tour next summer, and have new and improved merchendise by winter '08. Quoted by Yeshua-- "We don't really give a s--- if we win the music awards or not, but one might agree that there are so many bands in Erie, and so few places for a metal band to play, that the metal bands in erie need to stick together, and this would include a bit of friendly competition." No where has this been shown more than the recent Edinboro hangout show at which three bands played, all in the metal category for the 2008 Rock Erie music awards, Who Bleeds First, Cryptic Demise, and Pipeyard. Cryptic D would like to extend it's best wishes and luck to the other bands in the Metal category. c c -Joshua Williams (band manager) |
